Brian Rathe

Owner, President 

Brian’s career began in 1982 as a  delivery driver for the predecessor to Data Preservation Solutions, Southern Microfilm Corporation.  After continuing his education Brian returned to the family business in 1988 as a salesman learning all facets of the document management business. 

 

Those early days provided a solid foundation upon which Brian and his family launched several additional businesses (Racom, DocuData and Cogniserv), all focused on helping governments and commercial businesses better manage paper and electronic records. 

 

Today, Data Preservation Solutions continues the legacy of superior document management services coupled with recording software and other software products designed to help clients manage their records.  Brian’s focus is on directing the team at DPS to provide the very best services and solutions

Lance Gonzales

Preservation and Conversion Specialist

Lance started in the records management business in the early 90’s as a field service technician working on microfilm and microfiche equipment. As technology advanced with document scanners and document management software, Lance became one of the top technicians in his field and eventually was asked by Canon USA to help develop training and technical manuals for the Canon Image Filing Systems Division.

Lance started with Data Preservation Solutions January 2017 after devoting years to County and Commercial Account Management. As Preservation & Conversion Specialist, Lance assists clients with historical book preservation and restoration as well as back-file scanning and indexing projects with DPS.

Chris Ruggles

Software Operations Manager

Chris joined DPS in 2015, coming from Fidlar of Texas: a subsidiary of Fidlar Technologies and a predecessor to what is now Data Preservation Solutions. He brings a wealth of experience working with Texas Clerks to his invaluable role of Operations Manager for the Software Division of DPS. His passion for working with our county partners shines through in everything he does.

 

With more than 20 years’ experience in Customer Service and Project Management, Chris leads our support and project teams with a clear vision and tireless dedication. Chris is also the Project Lead for our partnership with both Galveston and Childress Counties and is an integral part of our success working with these partners.

 

In his free time Chris enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife and two children. He is an avid music lover, musician and baseball fan. 

Melissa Kulesz

Marketing Director

Melissa brings a unique background to the marketing department at DPS.  With over 25 years of sales and customer service experience, she has also owned and operated a custom ID business and started a real estate investment company with her husband.   

 

In her down time, Melissa enjoys spending time in the outdoors with her husband and 2 sons.  Whether it’s tending to her small hobby farm (complete with goats, chickens, and turkeys) or hunting and fishing, she is right at home.  She is also a baseball fan and enjoys making crafts when the time allows.

     Roger Tinnin

               Senior Sales Consultant

 

Roger has been involved with Texas County Government Services since 1989, spanning the election aspects (when he worked for Hart InterCivic) all the way to court records.  He enjoys the benefits of a diverse background from insurance to construction to customer service, allowing him to consider different points of view and to think outside the box when necessary. 

 

No matter the industry, his priority has always been delivery of top-notch services and products.  Since 2010 his primary focus has been on local government and, more specifically, the courts.  His knowledge of the unique records within the County and District Clerk’s offices is extremely valuable whether you’re looking for sound advice to create an inventory and archiving plan or to develop a backfile conversion budget.

     John Rickerby
               Senior Sales Consultant
In the 1990’s, John marketed enterprise software for a national vendor specializing in financial, land management and property tax solutions for state and local governments, and later - public utilities, law enforcement, fire, courts and K-12.  He joined Hart InterCivic in 2003 to promote elections and records management systems from Texas through the Southeastern U.S.
 
While at Hart he developed a strong interest in the records management portion of the business. He  especially appreciated the historical records maintained by counties that are so important to commerce and citizens, and the immense need to secure and preserve these records.  As Hart expanded into digitization services, data entry and preservation, John embraced this and the opportunity to work closely with customers to communicate best practices and help build cost effective plans to digitally capture and preserve these records.
 
John brings a broad understanding of government agency workflows and a detailed understanding of records management, digital tools and preservation. He is delighted to join the skilled and deeply experienced professionals at DPS and looks forward to working with you to make your project a resounding success and a point of pride for the community.
